Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. The university is renowned as the pioneer of modern research of eyewitness memory in children as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Prof. Goodman has published widely, received many grants and has been awarded several international and national awards. She has advised numerous government agencies and governments around the globe on policies and research relating to the treatment of child victims by the legal system. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of numerous professional organizations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
